EJ wins tree contest
Taking Note
East Jay Middle School students won the tree decorating contest at the Jay County Historical Museum.
The theme of their tree was “Recycle and Keep Jay County Clean” and all the ornaments were made from recycled materials.
The school will receive a set of Jay County history books for their library.
Graduates
Jeff Thomas Hurst recently graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a bachelor’s degree in physical chemistry.
He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jeffrey A. Hurst. His father is a 1966 graduate of Portland High School. He is also the grandson of Louanna Hurst of Portland.
Jeff is employed by the Dalton Research Group at the University of Washington.
He is co-author of a research project that has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Physical Chemistry.
Dean’s list
Adam Garringer, Portland, made the dean’s list for the first semester at the University of Indianapolis.[[In-content Ad]]
