Engine show set in Geneva (9/30/05)

Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva will host its annual Antique Gas Engine Show on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will take place in the parking lot of the historic log cabin home of naturalist and author Gene Stratton-Porter. The cabin will be open for tours and vendors will sell crafts and refreshments.

Internet classes

Two Internet for Beginners classes will be held at Jay County Public Library in October. The first will be Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. The second one will be Thursday, Oct. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. To register, call the library at (260) 726-7890.

Auditions at Arts Place

Auditions will be held Monday, Oct. 10, and Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Arts Place for A Christmas Carol. The Performance Company will present the Charles Dickens classic and it will be directed by Jennifer McFarland and Jason McGraw.

Informative program

A program about end of life issues will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 12:30 p.m. at the South Adams Senior Center in Berne. The speaker will be Stacey Del Priore who has extensive experience with Advance Directives and how they relate to today’s health care issues. The free program is sponsored by Adams Memorial Hospital. Senior information

Robert Countryman, a representative of S.H.I.I.P. will be at the West Jay Community Center in Dunkirk on Monday, Oct. 17, at 10:30 a.m. to answer questions seniors may have concerning new programs.

Library events

Library Teen Read Week will be Oct. 16 through Oct. 22 at the Jay County Public Library. The theme is “Get Real” and there will be a list of “Get Real” books to read at the library desk.

Write a poem with the words “Get, real, at, your, library, and enter it in the poetry contest during this week.

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, pumpkin painting will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. To register, call the library at (260) 726-7890.

Thursday, Oct. 20, there will be games from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Costume contest

The Jay County Public Library will once again have a costume contest on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m. Registration forms may be picked up at the library Oct. 20 through the 25th.[[In-content Ad]]
