Taking Note
“BOO-Rific,” a Halloween program, will be held today at 6:30 p.m. at Jay County Public Library.
Magic Don will perform a comedy and magic show. Children may come in costume and treats will be given after the show.
Friends of the Library will begin selling used books at Jay County Public Library. They can be found in a bookcase by the circulation desk. Magazines, puzzles, DVDs and CDs will also be available for sale.
The Cookbook Club will meet Monday, Nov. 12, at 6:15 p.m. at the library. Bring a favorite Thanksgiving food, the recipe and table service.
A Beginner’s Internet class will be held Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon. Learn how to use a mouse, navigate a webpage and surf the web. Also Email: The Basics will be held Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon. General knowledge of the internet is required. To register for internet classes, call the library at (260) 726-7890.

Wil Taylor, Portland, has entered two sheep in the junior market division of the 39th annual North American International Livestock Exposition to be held in November in Louisville, Ky.
At Minnetrista
Adults are invited to “After 5 @ Minnetrista: Dino Revolution” on Friday, Nov. 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Minnetrista in Muncie.
Live music from local band Married Folk will be featured and a complimentary drink, dino party favor and fondue-style appetizers will be given.
Grief group
State of the Heart Hospice will offer a holiday grief support group beginning in November at the Portland office at 1237 W. Ind. 67.
“The ‘Preparing for the Holidays’ meeting is designed to help (grieving) people get through the holidays,” stated Marlene Black, bereavement specialist for State of the Heart.
The group will meet Monday, Nov. 5, Dec. 3 and Jan. 7 from 3 to 4 p.m. For more information, call (800) 417-7535 or visit www.stateoftheheartcare.org.

The Winchester Community High School music department will present a Religious and Patriot concert on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. in the school auditorium.
The concert is sponsored by the Percy Goodrich Bandshell Trust. A chicken and noodle dinner will preceed the concert from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the school commons.
