Events set at library
Taking Note
Several events are scheduled at Jay County Public Library for March and April.
After school specials will be Friday, March 4, and Friday, April 1, from 2:45 to 4 p.m. for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. There will be refreshments, a story and crafts. After school specials for middle school students are Friday, March 18, and Friday, April 15, from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. There will be refreshments, music and crafts.
Story times are held each Monday and Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. March dates are 7, 8, 14, 15, 28 and 29 and April dates are 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26.
Mother Goose and Me will be each Friday at 9:30 a.m. March dates are 1, 8 and 15 and April dates are 4, 11 and 18.
Audiobooks and ebooks will soon be available to download from the library. The Book Discussion Group will meet Monday, March 21, at 7 p.m. to discuss the book “The Philosopher’s Apprentice” by James Morrow. On Monday, April 18, the group will again meet to discuss “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot.
A new kindergarten prep school program, KiPS, will be held each Tuesday for nine weeks this summer. Registration can be done at kindergarten round-ups or at the library in April. For more information, visit www.jaycpl.lib.in.us in late March.
