Fall foiliage tours begin (9/23/04)

The Whitewater Valley Railroad at Connersville will offer fall foliage tours during October. The train will leave the Connersville station on Thursdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, it will leave at 12:01 p.m.

The 33 mile round trip will take visitors to Metamora for a two hour visit to the canal town filled with over 100 shops, restaurants and a working grist mill.

On Saturday, Oct. 16, the Delaware Rangers will perform wild west reenactments and a train robbery on the train ride to Metamora.

QUILT SHOW

The Muncie Quilters Guild is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a quilt show at Minnetrista Cultural Center, Muncie, on Saturday, Oct. 2, through Sunday, Oct. 24.

The show will feature 130 quilts, wall hangings and wearables, all made from the 33 Quilters Guild members.

The show will also feature a 25th anniversary quilt challenge to members. They are invited to create a quilt measuring 25” by 25,” using 25 different fabrics and a touch of silver.

Visiting hours for the show are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children and $6 for senior citizens. For more information, call (765) 282-4848.

The annual Walk for Farm Animals will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at Foster Park in Fort Wayne.
