Faulkner totals 200 yards in win

The West Jay seventh grade football team opened its season with a 32-6 victory Thursday over Driver (Winchester).
Gabe Faulkner gained 200 yards of total offense for the Eagles, including a perfect 4-for-4 passing, throwing for 152 yards and one touchdown. He also added 48 yards on five carries.
Daniel Fugiett had two receptions for 115 yards, and Wyatt Geesaman caught Faulkner’s other two passes for 37 yards.
Andrew Toney led the rushing attack for the Eagles (1-0), tallying 49 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns.
Geesaman ran for 48 yards on four carries and also scored two rushing touchdowns for West Jay.
Defensively, Geesaman and Toney each had five tackles, Faulkner added four tackles and Noah Harris and Nick Raines added two each.
Chiefs fall to New Castle
New Castle’s football team defeated the East Jay Chiefs 23-0 Thursday.
The Chiefs rushed for more than 150 yards in the loss, led by Ryan Schlechty’s team-high 60 yards.
Daniel Ostrowski added 40 yards, and David Ostrowski, Trey Castillo, and Derrian Riojas each added 10 yards on the ground.
Parker Grimes and Brandon McIntire forced two New Castle turnovers. McIntire intercepted a pass, and Grimes forced a fumble.
Jake Bolman, Gavin Randall, Ethan Huntsman, Dawson Frasher and Issac Moeller all had multiple tackles for the Chiefs.
