FCC (Indiana) Inc. of Portland recently received the Honda Perfect Delivery Award for calendar year 2003.
FCC (Indiana) delivered more than four million parts on-time last year. Honda suppliers in North America delivered more than 10 million parts in 2003, company general affairs manager Eric Garringer reported this week.
The local company’s delivery performance for January through December 2003 was evaluated based on delivery trouble reports, delivery incidents, advanced shipping notification performance, downtime, units to repairs and communication. FCC (Indiana) was selected for the award based on its delivery performance within these criteria compared to all other suppliers within a specific part-type category. The Portland firm is in the complex component category.
There are more than 600 suppliers for all Honda North America facilities, and there were a total of 80 suppliers in the CC category. The top 10 percent within the categories were nominated for consideration. Honda management then evaluated the nominees in other critical areas, such as quality and costing. Suppliers who also maintain above average performance in these areas are selected as the award winners.
The awards were presented recently at Honda’s annual ceremonies.
“FCC (Indiana) is extremely proud of its associates and appreciates all their hard work and dedication that made this award possible. Congratulatons to them,” FCC (Indiana) president Toru Nasu said.
