FFA events planned
Taking Note
The Fort Recovery FFA Chapter will celebrate National FFA Week Monday, Feb. 22, through Friday, Feb. 26, with activities and events to build awareness of agriculture education.
Greenhand Initiation will be held on Monday, with the 38 new members dying their hands green to signify earning the Greenhand FFA Degree.
A Tractor Drive-In Day will be Tuesday to promote the significance of production agriculture in the community.
A Community FFA Breakfast and Truck Drive-In will be Wednesday. Breakfast, for local business leaders, community leaders, teachers, parents and members, will be served from 5 until 8 a.m.
The Elementary Petting Zoo, Food For America Program and Official Dress day will be Thursday. The petting zoo will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the agricultural shop.
Agricultural Olympics will be Friday where students will compete in a milk chug contest, a pedal tractor race, egg carry, pudding eating contest and tire rolling race.
Spelling winners
Bloomfield Elementary recently held its annual Spelling Bee.
The winner was Esther Graber, the fifth grade son of Alvin D. and Mattie Z. Graber.
The runner-up was Colton Fravel, the fifth grade son of Jeramy and Leah Fravel.
Library events
Adams Public Library in Geneva is having several upcoming events.
"Creating a Family Newsletter" class will be Thursday at 10 a.m.
"Dinner and A Movie" night is Friday with dinner at 6 p.m. Dinner reservations are required.
