FFA judged at district
Taking Note
Members of the Jay County FFA Chapter recently had proficiencies judged at the district level.
Winners included Chaz McClain for agriscience research animal systems; Sarah Dirksen for dairy production; Lauren Evans for diversified horticulture; Johnathan Hudson for equine science; Rick Fortkamp for poultry production; and Samantha Homan for swine production.
They will compete next at the state level.
Art contest
The 2014 Cooperative Calendar Art Contest is under way for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Work can be done with paint, pencil or crayon.
Entry forms and more information can be found at www.ElectricConsumer.org. Entries will be accepted until March 22.
Graduates
Emily Franks graduated Cum Laude from the University of Indianapolis with a bachelor’s degree in political science and experience design.
She is a 2009 graduate of Jay County High School and the daughter of Greg and Cathy Franks.
