Flenar, Lyons win Walton scholarships

Taking Note

Delphia Flenar and Emily Lyons, both Jay County High School graduates, each received a $1,000 Sam Walton Community Scholarship.

The awards were given for demonstrating high academic achievement and involvement in school, work and community activities.

The Sam Walton Community Scholarship is funded by the Wal-Mart/SAM’s CLUB Foundation and given annually by every Wal-Mart and SAM’s CLUB across the country.

Each December, high school seniors can receive a scholarship application from their high school counselor or their local Wal-Mart location.

Delphia plans to attend Butler University and Emily plans to go to DePauw University.
