FLMA seminar set
Taking Note
The St. Vincent Randolph Hospital Occupational Health Department will sponsor a Family Medical Leave Act seminar on Thursday, July 10, from 8 a.m. to noon in the Community Rooms 1 and 2 in the hospital in Winchester.
The speaker will be Pamela Frazee of the Indiana Department of Labor. The seminar is open to the public.

Jessica R. Shaw, daughter of Clara Shaw, 533 N. Meridian St., Redkey, recently graduated with distinction from the College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio Northern University.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in professional writing.
While attending, she was an active in Sigma Tau Delta English honorary; Pi Delta Phi French honorary; Sigma Delta Pi Spanish honorary; Alpha Lambda Delta women’s scholastic honorary; Delirium interdisciplinary web journal; Polaris literary journal; and the Creative Writers Group.

The Independent Adoption Center, Indianapolis, will hold an Adoption Information Session on Saturday, July 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
An adoption professional will discuss the process of open adoption, from the initial steps to getting started to finalizing the adoption. The $10,000 tax credit for domestic adoption will also be explained as well as all costs associated with adoption.
The IAC is located at 5224 South East St., Bldg. C, Suite 10. To register or for more information, call (317) 788-1039.
CONCERT
The Dixie Hummingbirds of Philadelphia, Pa., will perform in concert at the Community Civic Center, 520 E. Main St., Muncie, on Sunday, July 6.
Also performing, from Muncie, are The Footman Bros. Quartet; The Harps; M.L. Allen and soloist, Harvie Cody; and other groups.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children.
PILOT TRAINING
Ivy Tech State College in Fort Wayne will begin offering private pilot ground school training in the fall semester of 2003.
The course is being offered through the college’s Continuing Education office and will meet at Smith Field.
