Fort awards given (5/7/04)
Taking note
Fort Recovery High School honored many students at a program held Monday at the school.
Mark Hemmelgarn received a first place award in the VFW Voice of Democracy contest, Sharon Fortkamp placed second and Lindsay Gaerke placed third. Stefanie Westgerdes won the Patriotic Art Award, also presented by the VFW.
From the American Legion Post 345, Ben Osterholt, Jenn Stahl, Sean Kahlig, Megan Wenning, Bill Jutte and Mary Will were honored with the Americanism Test award. Kahlig was named the county winner.
Ohio High School Athletic Association scholar athlete awards were given to Joscie Kaup and Jason Groff. Kaup and Brandon Grieshop received the OHSAA Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award.
Olivia Post received the general art award, Kelly Evers was honored for advanced art, Briget Metzger received the photography award and Lindsay Gearke was honored for computer graphics.
Library aide Elizabeth Schoenherr and Togie Erdenebileg of reading counts were recognized.
Chris Hart received the business english award, Brenda Rindler was honored for accounting I, Nick Wehrkamp for accounting II and Shawn Stein for survival math. The yearbook/newspaper award went to Joscie Kaup.
Nick Schwieterman was given the programming award, and Eric Link won for advanced programming.
Craig Sutter received the discovery biology award, Vicki Roessner won for biology and Alyssa Tobe received the physiology award.
The physics award was given to Sean Kahlig, the advanced placement chemistry award was given to Derrick Huelskamp and Kyle Thobe received the chemistry award. David Fortkamp received the general science award and Sean Kahlig won an award from Bausch & Lomb.
Rachel Wendel won the award for family and consumer science I and Jill Wehrkamp received the family and consumer science II award.
Service learning awards were given to William Nofziger, Rachel Link, Holly Vogel, C.J. Tobe, Jenny Link and Katie Laux.
Aaron Kahlig was honored for Algebra II, the advanced math award went to Megan Wenning, Danielle Wendel won the pre-algebra award, Elizabeth Schoenherr received the Algebra I awards, Josh Gaerke was honored for geometry and Derick Faller won for advanced placement calculus.
The health award was given to Vicki Roessner and John Vagedes received the physical education award.
History awards went to Bill Jutte for world history and Sean Kahlig for American history. Derrick Huelskamp received the Ohio University American History Contest award. Also, Derick Faller was honored for senior social studies, April Steinbrunner for sociology and Stephanie Roessner for world history.
Language awards were given to Mary Will for Spanish I, Derrick Huelskamp for Spanish III, Amanda Hein for German II, Derick Faller for German IV and Jeff Boeckman for English 12. Vicki Roessner was honored for English 9, Dusty Tobe received the English 11 award and Emily Wendel won the English 12 award.
