FORT RECOVERY - The Indians have gotten a rude greeting from their Midwest Athletic Conference foes.
Fort Recovery's baseball team opened with five straight wins, but has since been shut out in back-to-back games by MAC opponents. The second of those losses came Friday by a 10-0 score to the Minster Wildcats.
After managing just a single hit against Coldwater Tuesday, the Indians tallied four - one each from Bobby Rammel, Clint Tobe, Toby Metzger and David Schmitt - in the loss to the Wildcats.
Kevin Schoenherr took the loss, allowing four runs - two earned - on five hits in 21/3 innings.
Fort Recovery's junior varsity squad also lost to Minster Friday, 9-1. Travis Hart scored the team's lone run, Tom Staugler had an RBI and Alex Gehle and Greg Kahlig added one hit apiece.
Stars fall to AC
BERNE - The South Adams baseball team fell behind 5-0, but rallied for a 6-5 victory over the Adams Central Jets.
The Starfires scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game on the way to the win. Jordan Sharp got the victory as he threw six innings of scoreless relief.
Brent Habegger finished 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Daniel Bollenbacher added three hits.[[In-content Ad]]
