FORT RECOVERY — It took a trip around the order for the Indians’ offense to get going. When it did, Jefferson could not slow them down.
The Fort Recovery High School softball team scored 10 times in a span of three innings Friday on the way to a 10-0, six-inning win over the Jefferson Wildcats.
Taylor Guggenbiller went 2-for-2 with two walks and three RBIs to lead the Tribe (10-13), which halted a three-game losing streak with the victory. Janelle Schwieterman racked up two doubles, two RBIs and a run, and Olivia Thien had three hits and three runs.
Kendra Brunswick added two hits and two runs, and Shelby Brunswick and Karissa Will each had a hit, a run and an RBI.
Andi Sutter struck out seven as she went the distance for the win. She blanked the Wildcats on four hits and two walks.
SA softball loses
BERNE — The Class 2A No. 2 Woodlan Warriors were too much for the South Adams softball team Friday as they handed the Starfires a 12-0 defeat.
Lily Taing took the loss, giving up 12 runs — five earned — on eight hits and five walks. South Adams (3-15, 0-7 Allen County Athletic Conference) committed six errors in the defeat.
The Starfires managed just three hits against Woodlan starter Hannah Robbins, one each from Brianna Nevil, Jennifer Miller and Brittany Pugsley.[[In-content Ad]]
