Fort board opts to purchase 3 buses (11/09/05)
Fort Recovery School Board
FORT RECOVERY — Hoping to head off an expected price increase, the Fort Recovery School Board opted to buy three new school buses this year rather than the usual one.
As a result, there will be no additional bus purchases the next two years.
Changes in environmental standards for bus engine emissions were expected to boost bus prices by next year, school officials said.
The Bluebird buses are being purchased from Cardinal Bus Sales, Lima, Ohio, at a cost of $65,500, less trade-in, each.
In other action, the board:
• Accepted the resignation of Nicole Kaiser as elementary student council adviser and hired Kimberly Pohlman as her successor.
• Accepted the resignation of Rick Kremer as girls’ freshman basketball coach because there is not enough participation this year to have a freshman team. Kremer will work with the varsity and junior varsity teams on a volunteer basis.
• Hired Michael Thien as assistant junior high girls’ basketball coach.
• Approved employment of Nancy Knapke as the Ohio Reads coordinator for the school year.
• Received a letter of congratulations from the Ohio Board of Education for earning an excellent rating on the state report card.[[In-content Ad]]
