Fort board receives updates (8/13/03)
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery School Board heard reports from each of its school principals Tuesday about final preparations for the start of the 2003-04 school year.
The board received information concerning the field trips, exchange students, class schedules and approval of student handbooks for the year. The board also approved bus drivers, classified substitute teachers and athletic coaches.
A work session was set for Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 7:30 p.m. to begin discussions on hiring a new superintendent to replace Fort Recovery Supt. Pat Niekamp.
It was announced in late July that Niekamp — who has more than 30 years of service with the Fort Recovery School Corporation — will be leaving the corporation to accept a position as superintendent of the Auglaize County Education Service Center. He plans to remain in his current position until the end of December.
