Fort eighth earns 11th victory

FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery Middle School eighth grade boys basketball team dominated the first half Tuesday on the way to a 51-34 victory over the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks.
The seventh grade team lost 16-15.
Kyle Schroer tallied 12 points for the eighth grade Indians (11-3), who were up 26-6 at halftime. Darien Sheffer joined him in double figures with 11 points.
Jason Roessner finished with seven points for the Tribe seventh graders (3-11). Caleb Martin added four points.
FR girls split with ’Skins
ST. HENRY, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s seventh grade girls basketball team shut out the St. Henry Redskins in the opening quarter in a 25-13 victory Tuesday.
The Tribe eighth graders lost 37-28.
Whitney Will and Jocie Kaiser each scored nine points for the FRMS seventh grade team, which led 12-0 at the half. Audra Metzger chipped in three points.
Kendra Siefring finished with 10 points for the Indian eighth graders, who scored just five points in the opening half. Kirsten Jutte added eight points.

WJ defeats Delta
DUNKIRK — The West Jay sixth grade girls basketball team knocked off the visiting Delta Eagles 18-17 Monday.
Hanna Ault scored 11 points to lead the WJMS to the victory. Kaelyn Weaver added four points.
Katy Hamilton scored all of the West Jay B team’s points in an 8-4 defeat.

Eagles top EJ
West Jay’s sixth grade boys basketball team knocked off host East Jay on Monday, 24-23.
Holton Hill paced the Eagles, who improved to 5-2, with eight points. Jordan Stultz added six points.
Tyler Lowe and Austin Schlosser each had six points as the WJMS B team won 26-22.[[In-content Ad]]
