Fort girls finish 4th

FORT LORAMIE, Ohio — The Fort Recovery High School girls cross country team scored 110 points Tuesday to finish fourth in the Fort Loramie Invitational. The Indians trailed Coldwater (55), which finished sixth in the state in Division III last season, the host Redskins (65) and Versailles (71) in the 11-team field.
The boys team was seventh out of 16 with 191 points. Coldwater won with 54.
Ryan Heitkamp turned in the top overall finish for the Tribe, taking 10th place in the boys race in 17 minutes, 42 seconds.
Abby May set the pace for the FRHS girls with a 12th-place finish in 21:26. Elle Sutter was 14th in 21:29, and Jessica Vogel finished 17th in 21:46.
Alexis Sutter crossed the finish line in 23:06 for 34th place, and Abby Huelskamp was 39th in 23:28.
Caleb Heitkamp was the No. 2 runner for the boys in 19:05 followed by Derek Sutter (47th - 19:35), Calvin Kaiser (52nd - 19:41) and Nathan Fullenkamp (53rd - 19:44).
In the junior high competition, Janel Heitkamp placed 18th in 14:03 as the Fort Recovery girls finished fifth out of nine teams. Caitlyn Huelskamp was 21st in 14:19 ahead of Monica Fullenkamp (25th - 14:34), Katie Braun (27th - 14:39) and Paige McCain (28th - 14:44).
A.J. Jutte was 29th for the Tribe boys, who did not have enough runners for a team score, in 13:00. Gabe Muhlenkamp was 45th in 13:41 followed by Isaac Siegrist (57th - 13:59) and Mitch Kaiser (101st - 15:42).


Golfers split
CELINA, Ohio — The Tribe boys golf team scored a 194 Monday to finish ahead of Fort Loramie (212), but behind St. Henry (172) in the three-team match at Mercer County Elks Golf Club.
Jared Kahlig had three pars and five bogeys as he set the pace for Fort Recovery with a 44. Nathan Clune of St. Henry earned medalist honors with a 42.
Shawn Roessner followed Kahlig with a 47. Gage Retz shot 51, and Derek Rammel finished with a 52.

Spikers split
ROCKFORD, Ohio — Fort Recovery’s seventh grade volleyball team picked up its second win Tuesday 25-20, 25-19 over the host Parkway Panthers. The eighth graders fell 25-16, 28-26.
Trisha Thien led the Indian seventh graders (2-3) with eight points and three kills. Morgan Lennartz had 12 points, including five aces, and Kendra Siefring added four kills.
Tori Lennartz totaled eight kills and four blocks for the eighth grade squad. Rachel Pugh had six points and five assists, and Haley Knapke finished with five kills and two blocks.[[In-content Ad]]
