McEvoy honored
MUNCIE — Jay County’s Brian McEvoy has earned his second straight Ball State University Alumnus Girls Track Coach of the Year Award.
The honor was announced Wednesday, and McEvoy will be presented with a plaque later this year.
McEvoy, who teaches English at JCHS, has led the Patriots to three consecutive girls track sectional championships. They won their most recent crown in May by 56 points over Delta.
The Jay County girls cross country team has won six straight sectional titles, the first two with McEvoy as an assistant coach and the last four as the head coach. He has also led the team to three regional championships.
The award is based on voting by other Ball State graduates who coach girls track.
