Fort Recovery blanks Cavaliers

COLDWATER, Ohio - The Indians already have their highest MAC win total since 2006.
Fort Recovery High School's softball team blanked the Coldwater Cavaliers 6-0 Tuesday to improve to 9-6, overall and 2-1 in the Midwest Athletic Conference. The Tribe had won just a single league game in the last three seasons combined.
Kendra Brunswick finished 2-for-4 with a double and two runs for the Indians, who scored once in the first inning and stayed in control throughout. Shelby Brunswick added a single, a double, a run and an RBI, Andi Sutter scored twice and Josie Guggenbiller scored two runs.
Andi Sutter tossed the shutout, striking out eight batters. She gave up just two hits and a walk against Coldwater (6-7, 1-2 MAC) in seven innings.
Baseball falls to Cavs
FORT RECOVERY - Fort Recovery was shut out over the final four innings Tuesday in a 10-2 loss to the visiting Coldwater Cavaliers.
The Indians (1-8, 0-3 Midwest Athletic Conference) trailed just 4-2 after four innings, but gave up five runs in the top of the fifth. Ethan Schoenherr took the loss, giving up six runs - four earned - on five hits and three walks in four innings.
Jason Pottkotter doubled and scored once for the Tribe, and Hayden Pottkotter scored twice. Shane Pottkotter singled and scored a run.
Coldwater improved to 13-1 overall and 4-0 in the MAC with the win.

FORT RECOVERY - The Indians rallied from a 6-0 deficit to take a one-run lead, but they could not hold on in an 11-7 loss to the Coldwater Cavaliers.
Becca Tobe suffered the loss as Coldwater tagged her with five runs in the sixth inning. She gave up 11 runs in all on four hits and seven walks.
Tobe led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run.
