MINSTER, Ohio — The Indians earned victories in more than half of the events, but didn’t have quite enough depth.
Fort Recovery High School’s boys swim team won nine events Saturday, finishing second to the New Bremen Cardinals 92-88 in a three-team meet. The Minster Wildcats were third with 36.
New Bremen won the girls competition with 95 points ahead of Minster (83), Fort Recovery (50) and St. Henry.
Mackinley Timmerman was one of three double winners for the Tribe boys, taking the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Andy Gray picked up wins in the 50 and 100 freestyle, and Marshall Hull was first in the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle.
Lane Hull added a win in the 100 backstroke, and FRHS also took the top spot in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
Cassie Gray paced the Indian girls, finishing second in the 500 freestyle.

ST. MARYS, Ohio — Fort Recovery Middle School’s eighth grade girls basketball team fought off St. Marys for a 30-27 victory Saturday in overtime. The seventh graders fell 32-12.
Caitlyn Huelskamp and Trisha Thien each scored seven points for the eighth graders, who earned their second victory of the year. Kirsten Jutte added six points.
Devin Post had four points for the FRMS seventh grade team (2-4). Jocie Kaiser scored three points.
Boys stay perfect
ARCANUM, Ohio — The Fort Recovery eighth grade boys basketball team dominated the opening half Saturday as it stayed perfect with a 44-21 victory over the Arcanum Trojans.
The seventh grade team suffered a 30-20 loss.
J.J. Overton scored 11 points to power the Tribe eighth graders (5-0), who were up 24-7 at the half. Jackson Hobbs also reached double figures with 10 points.
Caleb Martin totaled 10 points for the FRMS seventh grade team (3-2). Calvin Rammel added six points.[[In-content Ad]]
