Fort students earn gold rating (04/01/06)

Several members of the Fort Recovery FFA recently participated in the sub-district and district public speaking contests, held at New Bremen High School and Fort Recovery High School, respectively.

In the district contest, freshmen Chris Gehret, Kevin Jutte and Kelly Thien all received a gold rating in the FFA Creed Speaking Contest. Lindsey Fortkamp placed first in the Beginning Prepared Speech category, Mary Will placed first in the Prepared Public Speaking category and Kyle Brockman placed second in the Extemporaneous Speech category.

Fortkamp, Will and Brock advanced to the district level, where Fortkamp placed second and Will and Brockman placed fourth. Fortkamp’s second-place standing allows her to continue to the state competition.[[In-content Ad]]
