Fort to host events
Taking Note
William Heath, author of “Blacksnake’s Path, The True Adventures of William Wells,” will speak Sunday at 3 p.m. at Fort Recovery State Museum.
Wells fought in the 1791 Battle on the Banks of the Wabash and at the Battle of Fort Recovery.

Fort Recovery State Museum will have its second annual Archaeology Family Fun Fest on Sunday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Anyone is welcome to bring artifacts to exhibit. Experts will be available to help identify unknown pieces and tables will be provided. Call (419) 375-4384 to reserve a table.
Attends conference
Jeanne McMillan, Portland, recently traveled to Athens, Greece, to attend the Global Solutions in Research and Clinical Practice in Communications Sciences and Disorders conference at the 28th International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics Congress in Athens.
McMillan was a recipient of one of seven International Research Travel Awards that enabled her to attend the conference.
She presented a poster session on child language.
McMillan is assistant professor in the department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at Ball State University and is completing her doctoral degree.
