The Fort Recovery High School boys basketball team's game against New Knoxville was a thriller. The squads will likely get the chance to put on another show in the tournament.

The Indians, who remained ranked fifth in the state in Division IV this week, earned the No. 1 seed in the Coldwater boys basketball sectional and will play in the championship game Friday, March 15, at 6:15 p.m. They will play the winner of an opening-round game Wednesday, March 3, between New Knoxville (11-6) and Waynesfield-Goshen (4-12).

In the other half of the Coldwater bracket, Marion Local (8-7) will take on Minster (6-10) in the second opening-round game March 3 at 8 p.m. The winner of that game will advance to play second-seeded New Bremen (12-3) for a sectional title March 5 at 8 p.m.

The champions will advance to district play Tuesday, March 9, at Wapakoneta.

Fort Recovery senior Greg Kahlig broke the school's all-time scoring record Jan. 29 at New Knoxville, scoring 24 of his 30 points in the second half. He led the Indians, who trailed by nine early in the second half, to a 61-59 victory.

The Tribe was fifth for the second straight week in the Division IV poll released Monday by The Associated Press. It earned 145 poll points, 23 more than last week, to finish nine behind Southeastern Local (15-1).

The top three teams in Division IV are Newark Catholic (16-0), McDonald (16-0) and Continental (16-1).
