COLDWATER, Ohio — For the first time this season the Indians are in the midst of a losing streak.
The Division IV No. 7 Fort Recovery High School baseball team suffered its third straight loss Tuesday, dropping a 12-2, six-inning decision to the Division III No. 3 Coldwater Cavaliers.
The Indians, who won 10 of their first 13 games, are now 10-6 overall and 0-3 in the Midwest Athletic Conference.
Chad Schroer took the loss, allowing six runs — two earned — on six hits and two walks in three innings.
FRHS closed to within 3-2 with two runs in the top of the third inning, but the Cavaliers (11-2, 1-0 MAC) scored twice in the bottom of the frame and pulled away for the win.
Jacob Muhlenkamp led the Tribe offense, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Blake Boughman, Shane Pottkotter and Schroer each had one hit.

Softball blanked
FORT LORAMIE, Ohio — Fort Recovery managed just one hit Tuesday as it fell 4-0 to the Fort Loramie Redskins.
Fort Loramie got all the runs it would need when it scored twice in the first inning. It added single runs in the second and third as the Indians committed seven errors
Ashley Homan took the loss despite not allowing an earned run. She struck out four batters while giving up five hits and three walks.
Jackie Fullenkamp had the only hit for Fort Recovery, which slipped to 1-9.

Kaup, Sutter win
ST. HENRY, Ohio — Hannah Kaup and Elle Sutter picked up the only victories Tuesday for the Fort Recovery track teams, which finished last in a four-team Midwest Athletic Conference meet.
New Bremen won the girls competition with 116 points, and St. Henry was first in the boys with 108.5.
Kaup dominated the girls long jump, winning by more than a foot over St. Henry’s Shelby Gelhaus. She turned in a leap of 14 feet, 2 inches.
Sutter also finished first by a wide margin in the 3,200-meter run.
She finished in 12 minutes, 43 seconds, to win by more than 15 seconds.
Emilie Sheridan added a runner-up finish in the 100 hurdles, and Sam Tobe was third in the 3,200 run.
Xavier Shauver was fifth for the boys team in the shot put with a toss of 34 feet, 6 inches. David Trobridge added a sixth-place finish in the 200 dash in 25.31 seconds, and was also seventh in the 100 dash.

JV baseball loses
FORT RECOVERY — The Indians were never able to push a run across the plate Tuesday in a 5-0 loss to the Coldwater Cavaliers.
Nick Litmer took the loss, giving up three runs — two earned — on six hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out two batters.
Ben Will recorded two of Fort Recovery’s four hits with a single and a double. Kyle Schroer and Evan Schoen added one hit apiece.
The loss dropped Fort Recovery to 3-4.

MS girls take 1st
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery Middle School girls track team scored 69 points Tuesday to fight off Russia (60) and Marion Local (56.5) in a four-team meet.
The Tribe boys were third behind Russia (107) and Marion Local (71) with 24 points. Franklin-Monroe was last in both competitions.
Fort Recovery’s girls earned all of their wins in the sprints and the hurdles, with Lexi Sheffer taking the 200-meter hurdles by one tenth of a second in 35.8. Abby Wenning posted a winning time of 19.2 in the 100 hurdles.
Lauren Gehle won the 100 dash in 14.4, and Kiah Wendel finished first in the 200 dash in 30 seconds flat.
Dillon Ramirez led the boys team with a second-place finish in the 110 hurdles in 22.3.[[In-content Ad]]
