After falling 6-5 to Norwell in Monday’s season opener thanks to a three-run rally in the seventh inning, the Starfires made sure Winchester had no chance at a comeback. They broke open a tie game with four runs in the third inning, and then added nine runs in the fourth and six in the fifth.
Blake Fox led the outburst as he finished 4-for-5 with a double, six RBIs and two runs. Corey Seffernick notched two hits and four runs, Dakota Scherrer added two hits and three runs and Eric Pimentel had two hits and three RBIs.
Chase Ingle struck out three batters in three innings to earn the win. Collin Affolder tossed two scoreless innings of relief.
