FRHS suffers first defeat
Local roundup
DELPHOS, Ohio — Jefferson was the victim in one of the Indians’ most exciting victories last season. It wouldn’t let them pull off another dramatic win Tuesday.
Fort Recovery fell behind in the opening period and never led in the final three quarters as it suffered its first high school girls basketball loss of the season 54-50 to the host Jefferson Wildcats.
Jefferson (4-3) closed the first quarter on a 9-1 run for an eight-point lead and never trailed again. The Indians (6-1), who beat the Wildcats 67-66 a year ago on Olivia Schwieterman’s free throw with no time on the clock, pulled even just once the rest of the way as they shot just 34 percent from the field.

Courtney Lewis had 18 points to lead the Wildcats.
In the junior varsity game, Tori Lennartz scored 16 points as FRHS fell 38-31.
