Business roundup
Fort Recovery Industries Inc. recently donated $500 toward the Western Ohio Educational Foundation’s Academic Excellence Scholarship Fund at the Lake Campus of Wright State University.
The university and the foundation announced the donation Thursday afternoon. On hand for the check presentation were Thomas A. Knapke, Lake Campus assistant dean for development; Larry Holmes, vice-president of finance for Fort Recovery Industries; and Neil Diller, WOEF board trustee.
Holmes is a graduate of Wright State with a degree in finance and has taught finance classes at the Lake Campus as an adjunct instructor.
UNIT HITS ROAD
The Bluffton Regional HealthCheck unit — complete with two exam rooms — is ready to roll and will be at festivals, fairs and businesses through October.
During these fairs and festivals, free or reduced price screenings will be offered to the public. Trained medical professionals will be performing the screenings in a confidential environment.
The unit also is available to area businesses to promote employee health. Services offered include blood pressure checks, some cancer screenings, blood tests, osteoporosis screenings, body composition evaluations, pulmonary function evaluations and flu shots.
Educational programs and displays also can be provided on a broad range of health topics from mental health to work site safety.
