Accused of theft
A Ridgeville man was arrested Thursday by Portland police after he allegedly stole from his employer.
Grandon C. Winningham, 19, 307 E. Main St., was arrested for theft, a class D felony.
On Thursday, Winningham, an employee of the Wal-Mart Supercenter, Portland, allegedly stole an all-terrain vehicle battery. Police said that after his shift ended, he went through the self-checkout lane and paid for a sports drink but not the battery. The battery is valued at $30.
Winningham was released from the Jay County Jail Thursday night on a $3,000 bond.[[In-content Ad]]
