MUDDIEST TRUCK
Jay County High School senior and FFA member Rusty Imel was the winner of the “muddiest truck” contest held Thursday morning at JCHS. This event was part of the JCHS celebration of National FFA Week.
Members gathered this morning for an FFA meeting and a breakfast of juice and donuts.
During the lunch periods today, the “Ag Olympics” — including three-legged, sack and pedal tractor races — were held in the commons. (Photos of these events will appear in The Commercial Review on Saturday.)
Other festivities this week included a grain guessing game, where contestants vied to determine how many kernels of corn, soybeans and wheat were in a pint.
THEFT
A missing air compressor was reported to Jay County police by a rural Portland woman Thursday.
Betty Wilhelm, 2914 East Treaty Line Road, reported that an air compressor, valued at $300, was missing from her barn. She told police that the compressor might have been missing for about two months. She discovered that it was not in the barn on Feb. 8.
