Roy Cover

May 4, 1918-Jan. 7, 2010

Services for Roy V. Cover, 91, Berne, are Monday at 10 a.m. at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva with Pastor Moe Hodge officiating. He died Thursday at his home.

Born in Wabash to Thurman A. and Edith Pauline (Parrett) Cover, he was preceded in death on March 15, 1982, by his wife Martha (Brinkman) Cover, whom he married on July 25, 1953, in Jeffersonville.

A veteran of the United States Army, he attended Bridge Church in Decatur and was a member of VFW Post No. 6751 in Geneva.

Survivors include six sons, Steven A. Cover, Columbus, Ohio, Bert M. Cover, Muncie, Harry G. Cover, Berne, Roger L. Cover, Independence, Mo., Richard N. Cover, Eaton, and Rick J. Cover, Decatur; three daughters, Mrs. Faron (Jane) Cullinger and Mrs. Johnny (Sondra) Hines, both of Berne, and Margaret P. Booher, Geneva; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.

Paul Fisher

Nov. 25, 1932-Jan. 6, 2010

Paul "Bing" Ray Fisher, 77, died Wednesday at Briarwood Village in Coldwater, Ohio.

Born in Mercer County, he was the son of Birchie B. and Charlotte Belle (Hole) Fisher.

Survivors include a son; a daughter; a brother; a sister, Mrs. Larry (Ruth) Snook, Portland; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services are Tuesday at 1 p.m. at W.H. Dick and Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, Ohio. Burial will be in Swamp Cemetery in Celina.

Visitation is Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gregory Harrod

March 3, 1955-Jan. 5, 2010

Gregory Dale Harrod, 54, Muncie, died Tuesday at his home following a battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).

Born in Salem to Raymond Dale and Mary Alice (Kestner) Harrod, he graduated from Portland High School in 1973 and received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Ball State University.

He had worked in sales management and executive leadership.

Survivors include his wife Deborah L. Harrod, Muncie; a son, Drew A. Sayre, Muncie; a daughter, Danielle L. Sayre, Indianapolis; his mother, Mary Harrod, Portland.

Services are Monday at 1 p.m. at The Meeks Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, Muncie, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Cremation will follow.

Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

Audrey Bell

April 15, 1926-Jan. 7, 2010

Audrey G. Bell, 83, 110 Pilgrim Drive, Portland, a former Pennville resident, died Thursday at Persimmon Ridge in Portland.

Born in Adams County to Fred and Nellie (Bricker) Brewster, she was preceded in death on June 30, 2003, by her husband W. Robert Bell, whom she married on April 15, 1926.

She was a secretary for 3-M Corporation and a member of Pennville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Robert G. Bell, Portland; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Webb, Farmland; two brothers, Fred Brewster, Bellefountain, and Darrel "Pete" Brewster, Peculiar, Mo.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Tiedeman officiating. Private burial will be held.

Visitation is one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Marlin Allen Knowles Sr., 63, Poneto, died Saturday at his home.

Born in Montgomery, Ala., to Marion T. and Lena (Betts) Knowles, he is survived by his wife Rita Smith, whom he married on June 3, 1966.

He had worked for Elkhart Products Corporation in Geneva for 27 years.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters; two sons; his mother; two brothers; a sister and two grandchildren.

There will be no services. Thoma/Rich, Chaney and Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton is in charge.
