Rowena M. Dowd, 94, Muncie, died Tuesday at Elmcroft Living Center.
Born in Jay County to Hazy (Mays) McKibben, she graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1933.
She was preceded in death by husband William.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald Dowd and Michael Dowd, both of Muncie, Jeffrey Dowd, Racine, Wis., and Randy Dowd, Little Rock, Ark.; seven grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory Washington Street Chapel with Bishop Gary Clowers officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, near Eaton.
Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vada M. Schwarzkopf, 89, Montpelier, died Thursday at Miller's Merry Manor in Hartford City.
Born in Blackford County to James Arthur and Edith Blanche (Strait) Alfrey, she graduated from Montpelier High School in 1939.
She was preceded in death on Oct. 18, 1986, by her husband Clifford E. Schwarzkopf, whom she married on Nov. 5, 1939.
She was owner and operator of Vada's Posey Room in Montpelier for several years and was former director of LifeStream Services.
Memberships include Kiwanis Club, past president of Millard Brown American Legion Post No. 156 Auxiliary in Montpelier, past president of the Chamber of Commerce, Montpelier Senior Citizens, Montpelier Historical Society and 1976 Sesquicentennial Celebration committee.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Schwarzkopf, Owensboro, Ky., and Dee Schwarzkopf, Hartford City; a daughter, Mrs. Garry (Pamela) Shroyer, Hartford City; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services are Sunday at 3 p.m. at Walker and Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier with Pastor Tom Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier. Visitation is Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home.

Services for Cheryl Ann Whetsel, 57, Dunkirk, are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany. She died Tuesday at Jay County Hospital.
A 1970 graduate of Dunkirk High School, she was the daughter of Harry E. and Betty L. Whetsel.
Survivors include her mother, Betty L. Whetsel, Dunkirk; a brother, Mark Whetsel, Dunkirk; a sister, Jeannie Shewmake, Dunkirk; two nephews; three nieces and a great-nephew.
Visitation is one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial willl be in Black Cemetery.
LaVerne Deerr
LaVerne Saffer Deerr, 91, Muncie, died Thursday in Alexandria, Va., while staying with family.
Born in Jay County to Kenneth and Myrtle Saffer, she graduated from Albany High School in 1935.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank H. Deerr Jr., whom she married in 1945.
She attended Indiana Business College in Muncie and worked at State Finance.
Survivors include a son, Timothy Deerr, Alexandria, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Susan Deerr, Dunkirk; and four grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Muncie for more than 60 years. A memorial Mass and private graveside services are pending. Burial will be in Strong Cemetery, Albany.

Lois M. Everhart, 84, Muncie, died July 10 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
Born in Albany to Howard and Opal (Hinton) Ritter, she was preceded in death in 2001 by her husband of more than 53 years Don E. Everhart.
She retired from Indiana Glass Company in Dunkirk in 1986 after 20 years of service.
Survivors include a daughter; a son; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services are Monday at 1:30 p.m. at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory Washington Street Chapel. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation is Monday from noon until time of services at the funeral home.

She had worked at Ball Incon (now Saint Gobain Containers) in Dunkirk for 37 years.
Surviving are five children, including Kathy McCormick, Dunkirk; two sisters; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services are Monday at 1 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, Muncie. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Muncie. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
