Obituaries

Paul Moser

Paul W. Moser, 83, rural Geneva, died Wednesday at Swiss Village in Berne.

Born on March 22, 1925, in Adams County, to David and Edna (Kneuss) Moser, he was married on March 28, 1952, to Ella Amstutz, who died in 1993.

Retiring from farming and from Dunbar Furniture Co. after 41 years of service, he attended First Missionary Church in Berne.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Carolyn) Renner, Geneva; and a sister, Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Oswalt, Poneta.

Services are Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at First Missionary Church with the Revs. Max Haines, Gareth Wiederkehr and James Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne.

Visitation is Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Sunday at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne.

Memorials may be sent to Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana or Adams Memorial Hospital Oncoolgy Center.

Lucien Scheibler

Lucien Emory Scheibler, 70, Portland, died Wednesday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born on April 12, 1938, in Milroy, he was the son of Lucien and Virgie M. (Ryker) Scheibler.

He had been a truck driver at Brunni Concrete in Greensburg for 20 years.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Micheal (Tresa A.) Frakes, Las Vegas, Mrs. Eddy (Penny M.) Feldman, Greensburg, Lorena M. Ramirez, Greenfield, and Carla Moreland; a son, Robert F. Scheibler, Shelbyville; a sister, Leona McLaughlin, Portland; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home in Milroy with the Rev. Roy Reed officiating. Burial will be in Old Richland Methodist Cemetery in Richland.

Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard Stahl

Services were held Saturday in St. Henry, Ohio, for Richard T. "Bud" Stahl, 83, St. Henry. The father of a Fort Recovery woman, he died May 28 at The Gardens at St. Henry.

Born on May 24, 1925, in Philothea, Ohio, to Edward and Anna (Schoenlein) Stahl, he was married on May 9, 1953, to Lucille Post, who survives.

Other survivors include four sons; five daughters, including Mrs. Pat (Mary) Niekamp, Fort Recovery; two brothers; two sisters; 30 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry was in charge of the arrangements.

Raymond Meyer

Raymond K. "Jake" Meyer, 89, Bryan, Ohio, died May 25 at his home. He was the former owner of a Portland business.

Born on Dec. 31, 1918, in Huntington, to John A. and Lena (Schenkel) Meyer, he was married on Dec. 31, 1941, to Mildred Schindler, who died on Nov. 7, 1999.

He had owned Shastar Rent-To-Own in Portland.

Survivors include two sons; a daughter; two sisters; four grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church in Celina, Ohio, with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m.

Visitation is today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 127 A. Blakeslee St. in Bryan, Ohio.

Willidean

Hasenjager

Willidean M. "Billie" Hasenjager, 87, Celina, Ohio, died May 26 at Celina Manor Nursing Home in Celina. She was the mother of a Fort Recovery woman.

Born on March 24, 1921, in Fort Wayne, to Vilas and Marjorie (Gibson) Riesen, she was married in October of 1942, to Carl Lowell Hasenjager, who died on March 21, 1996.

She had worked at several restaurants, including Thobe's in Fort Recovery.

Survivors include three sons, three daughters, including Mrs. Dale (Donna) Kaup, Fort Recovery; a brother; two sisters; 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.

W.H. Dick and Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Anna and Allison Steinlage

Private family services were held for twins Anna Lynn and Allison Jo Steinlage, St. Henry, Ohio. The great-granddaughters of Fort Recovery residents, they were stillborn May 28 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, from Merkel-Gruber Syndrome. They were the great-granddaughters of Fort Recovery residents.

Surviving are their parents, Mark and Leslie Steinlage, St. Henry; grandparents and great-grandparents, including Luke and Edna Rose, Fort Recovery.
