Accused of DWI
A Dunkirk man was arrested Thursday after he was pulled over by Jay County police.
Jerry W. Johnson, 54, 310 Short St., was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a class D felony.
Police stopped him in an alley in Dunkirk, near the post office on Commerce Street on suspicion of driving while license suspended.
Driving while intoxicated, normally a misdemeanor charge, is enhanced to a class D felony if the person has been convicted of DWI in the past five years.
Johnson was also cited for driving while license suspended and having a cracked windshield.
Johnson was being held in the Jay County Jail this morning on a $3,000 bond.[[In-content Ad]]
