Deer struck
Three drivers hit deer with their vehicles in Jay County this morning.
At 3:25 a.m., Jason Siegrist, 31, 1458 E. 500 South, Portland, was traveling west on county road 500 South near county road 400 East when he hit a deer with his 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing $1,000 to $2,500 in damage.
At 4:40 a.m., Johnny Buck, 63, 19900 N. 800 East, Dunkirk, was traveling east on county road 400 South near county road 700 West when he struck a deer with his 2000 Honda Civic, causing $2,500 to $5,000 in damage.
At 6:45 a.m., Dustin Harris, 24, 315 E. Maple St., Pennville, was traveling east on Ind. 18 near county road 750 West when he hit a deer with his 1998 Dodge Ram, causing $1,000 to $2,500 in damage.

Driveway accident
A Portland woman hit a parked car with her SUV while backing out of a driveway at 827 S. Meridian St., Portland, on Wednesday.
Susan Smith, 53, 419 W. Votaw St., was backing out the driveway when her 2004 Ford Explorer struck a 2006 Pontiac G6 owned by Brittany Logue, 301 E. Water St., Portland.
Total damage in the 6:20 p.m. accident was estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.

Stolen gun
A rural Portland man reported a theft on Wednesday.
Karl Fennig, 7152 S. 175 West, told police that someone stole a .22 caliber handgun from his truck while it was parked at Walmart, 950 W. Votaw St., Portland on April 25.
