Caroline Schwartz

Caroline E. Schwartz, 52, 5870 East 900 North, Bryant, died Thursday at her home.

Born in Adams County on Sept. 27, 1955, to John D. and Elma E. (Troyer) Wickey, she was married on Nov. 3, 1977, in Adams County, to Joe E.J. Schwartz, who survives.

She attended Sunny Side School in Adams County and was a member of the Old Order Amish.

Surviving besides her husband are her mother, Elma E. Wickey, Adams County; five sons, Joseph C.J., Jacob C.J., John C.J., Samuel C.J. and Nathan C.J. Schwartz, all of Jay County; four daughters, Mrs. Benjamin (Malinda J.) Schwartz, Mrs. William (Elma J.) Wickey, Mrs. John (Emma J.) Girod, and Caroline J. Schwartz, all of Jay County; three brothers, David E. Wickey, Grabill, Emanuel E. Wickey and Samuel E. Wickey, both of Berne; four sisters, Mrs. Carl (Emma E.) Schwartz and Mrs. Elmer (Elizabeth E.) Schwartz, both of Monroe, Mrs. Jacob (Mary E.) Schwartz and Mrs. Ruben (Ada E.) Schwartz, both of Berne; and 16 grandchildren.

Services are Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Joe E.J. Schwartz residence with Bishop Jerry B. Girod officiating. Burial will be in Bearcreek Cemetery in Bryant.

Visitation is today from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Schwartz home.

Downing and Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva is in charge of the arrangements.

Thurl Buckmaster

A Mass of christian burial was held in April for Thurl B. "Buck" Buckmaster, 87, North Muskegon, Mich., a native of Adams County. He died April 24 in Michigan.

Born in Jefferson Township to Byron and Adelia Ora (Runyon) Buckmaster, he graduated from Geneva High School in 1939 and lived in Jay County for a short time.

A veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving during World War II, he retired from Anaconda Wire and Cable after 40 years of service.

He was a member of the American Legion and Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Buckmaster; three sons, Robert, Larry and David Buckmaster; a daughter, Mrs. Allan (Cheryl) Cole; a sister, Esther J. Clapp, Fresno, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a niece.

Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel in Muskegon was in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials, in honor of his wife, may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.

Dianne Stotlar

Dianne E. Stotlar, 62, Uniondale, a Jay County native, died Wednesday at her home.

Born on May 13, 1945, to Virgil and Phyllis (Thorton) Knotts, she was a 1963 graduate of Pennville High School.

She was married on Oct. 31, 1981, in Ossian to H. Gene Stotlar who survives.

A member of the First Church of Christ, she worked for Crosby's in Fort Wayne and Peyton's.

Surviving besides her husband are nine daughters, Shelly Rea, Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Blaine (Angela) Sprinkle, Huntington, Tera Stotlar, Lebanon, Donna Anderson, Bluffton, Mrs. Kenny (Robin) Bolt, Batesville, Ark., Mrs. Randy (Kimberly) Burns, Bluffton, Sheri Shane, Ossian, Mrs. Bobby (Sandy) Martinez, Monroe, and Jamie Stotlar, Wabash; three sons, Tim Stotlar, Bluffton, Randy Stotlar, Montpelier, and David Stotlar; a brother, Kenneth Knotts, Bryant; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton with Larry Sprinkle officiating.

Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemtery in Bluffton.

Visitation is today from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until time of services at the funeral home.[[In-content Ad]]
