Martha Stafford
Services for Martha L. Stafford, 78, 246 W. Main St., Pennville, are set for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Kellogg officiating. Burial will be in the Pennville IOOF Cemetery.
Mrs. Stafford died Wednesday at her residence. She retired in 1962 from the U.S. Glass Company in Gas City, after nine years, and was a member of the Jonesboro OES. She attended the Friends Church in Pennville. Born April 14, 1925, in Jonesboro, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Phoebe (Malott) Colyer. She was first married in 1950 to Vernon Horner and he died in 1959. She was then married on July 16, 1962, to John Stafford, who died in 1992.
Surviving are one son, Vernon “Gene” Horner, Pennville; one daughter, Mrs. Mike (Susan) Needler, Montpelier; one stepdaughter, Linda Stafford, Pennville; three brothers, Kenny R. Colyer, Custer, S.D., Russell L. Colyer, Gas City, and Larry Colyer, Jonesboro; two sisters, Mrs. John (Phyllis) Keeling, Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Anna Rose Rice, Gas City; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Pennville First Responders.[[In-content Ad]]
