Serious condition
A Dunkirk man was listed in serious condition at a Fort Wayne hospital this morning after he was involved in an accident Wednesday in Wells County.
Emmitt Collett, 80, was flown to Lutheran Hospital from the scene of the accident. A hospital spokesperson released his condition.
Collett suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung.
The accident occurred about 7:50 a.m. Wednesday near 11590 South Ind. 3. A grain truck and a car collided.
No other information was available this morning.
Pumps and leaves
Someone pumped $15.09 in gas at a local convenience store and left without paying.
An employee of Circle K, 325 N. Meridian St., told Portland police that the incident occurred today at 5:35 a.m. The employee said someone driving a green Jeep Cherokee or Chevrolet pick-up truck pumped the gas and left.
Meeting set
The Jay County Board of Health will meet Nov. 7 at 7 a.m. at the Jay County Courthouse Annex, 504 W. Arch St., Portland.
The meeting is open to the public.
In area courts
In Wells Superior Court recently, a civil case against a rural Pennville couple was dismissed.
Atlas Collections had filed the suit against Robin and Michael King.
In Celina (Ohio) Municipal Court recently, Melvin R. Stein, Bryant was fined $25 and ordered to pay court costs for speeding; Greg C. Tobe, Fort Recovery was fined $125 and court costs for speeding.[[In-content Ad]]
