Meds stolen
A Portland man told police that someone stole medications out of his car while it was parked at Wal-Mart.
Steven Bash, 513 W. Walnut St., told Portland police that while he was in Wal-Mart Thursday between 2:15 and 2:34 p.m., that someone entered his vehicle and took four prescriptions.
He reported the theft at 2:38 p.m.
Car egged
A Portland woman reported that her car was egged sometime before Thursday morning.
Jackie Schlechty, 812 W. Main St., told police that her car was egged sometime before she reported the incident at 9:45 a.m. Schlechty told police this has happened multiple times this year.
Steer hit
An Ohio man hit a steer while driving through Greene Township Thursday night.
Roger Homan, 51, 6919 Olding Road, Maria Stein, Ohio, was traveling north on county road 700 West about a half-mile south of county road 50 South, when a steer ran onto the road. Homan was unable to avoid hitting the animal.
An estimated $1,000 to $2,500 of damage was caused to Homan's 2006 Chevrolet Suburban in the 8:45 p.m. accident.
Van flipped
A Portland man was injured after his van flipped while attempting to pass a vehicle in Adams County Tuesday.
Amos M. Robles, 19, was driving north on county road 200 West near 500 South in Adams County, when he noticed a vehicle with a trailer that was stopped on the road. The vehicle was stopped left-of-center, and Robles attempted to move to the right to get around the vehicle. The wheels of his van slipped off the side of the road, causing it to roll over into the side ditch.
Robles complained of bruises and back pain following the accident and was transported to Adams Memorial Hospital.
An estimated $2,500 to $5,000 of damage was caused in the 7:30 a.m. accident.
In area courts
In Celina Municipal Court recently, Staci L. Williams, 34, Portland, pleaded no contest to passing bad checks. She was ordered to pay restitution and court costs.
In the same court, Shonda M. Vogel, Fort Recovery, was fined $35 for speeding.[[In-content Ad]]
