DUNKIRK - Daniel Fugiett had things under control Saturday.

Fugiett scored more goals that any team Saturday in the West Jay Community Center Summer Soccer League, leading the Lightning to a 12-2 victory over the Twisters. The Thunder also defeated the Twisters 7-5 in 4-6-year-old games, and in the 7-10-year-old division it was Jaguars 3, Lions 1 and Tigers 6, Cheetahs 1.

The Lightning was in control all the way behind Fugiett, who scored three times in the first quarter and added two goals each in the second, third and fourth. Marco Valdez also had a big day with six goals for the Thunder.

Ian Miller scored all of the Jaguars' three goals, and Zaaron Lee had three for the Tigers.

Seyler wins at Muncie

ALBANY - Phil Seyler of Portland picked up a victory in the Super Sport division at Muncie Dragway Saturday.

He won driving a 1980 Chevrolet Malibu, beating out runner-up John Keihn of Muncie.

Jay-Randolph blanked

ANDERSON - The Jay-Randolph American Legion Baseball Team had a rough Saturday, falling 11-0 in five innings to Mishawaka at the Anderson Holiday Tournament.

Mishawaka scored six times in the third inning and five more in the fourth while limiting J-R to just five hits.

Cody Wilson took the loss, allowing six runs on two hits and seven walks in 22/3 innings. Mishawaka also tagged Josh Rodeffer for five runs on four hits and six walks in one inning.

Recording hits for Jay-Randolph (2-11) were Cameron Stephens, Luke Morrison, Justin Schwieterman, A.J. Vore and Brandon Morris.[[In-content Ad]]
