Fullenkamp leads Indians to 2-0

Fort Recovery roundup

FORT RECOVERY — Jackie Fullenkamp led the way Tuesday as the Fort Recovery High School softball team battered the visiting Russia Raiders 15-8.
The Indians (2-0) trailed 5-3 after four innings, but scored six times each in the fifth and sixth to take control.
Fullenkamp led the offensive outburst for the Tribe, which topped Franklin Monroe 10-0 in six innings in Monday’s season opener, as she finished with a triple, a single, three RBIs and a run. Melissa Lochtefeld added two hits, including a double, two runs and an RBI.
Haley Knapke scored three times for Fort Recovery, and Janelle Schwieterman added two runs.
Beca Tobe went the distance for the win, giving up eight runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out one.

Kahlig leads track
ROCKFORD — Kylie Kahlig picked up three wins Tuesday as the Tribe track teams finished last in a three-team meet at Parkway.
The Fort Recovery girls scored 49 points to finish behind the host Panthers (70) and Lima Central Catholic (51). The boys finished with 40 points to trail Parkway (63) and LCC (57).
Kahlig earned two of her victories in the sprints, taking the 100-meter dash in 14.45 seconds and the 200 dash in 29.28. She also took the top spot in the shot put by more than four feet at 36 feet, 10 inches.

Aaron Vagedes picked up the only wins for the boys team, finishing first in the 200 dash in 24.72 and the 400 dash in 55.05.
Elle Sutter added a victory in the girls 3,200 run in 12 minutes, 33.57 seconds.

Huelskamp wins three
FORT RECOVERY — Caitlyn Huelskamp racked up three victories as the middle school girls track team score 90.5 points to easily outdistance Arcanum (29.5) and Houston (250).
The boys team finished with 56 points as if came up just short against Houston (58). Arcanum was third with 36.
Huelskamp won the two longest races of the evening for the Indians, taking the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 46.6 seconds and the 1,600 run in 6:09. She cleared the bar at 4 feet, 6 inches to take the top spot in the high jump.
Darien Sheffer won the boys high jump for Fort Recovery at 5 feet, 2 inches. He was also first in the 100 dash in 13.9.
Also earning victories for the Tribe Tuesday were Chelsea Timmerman, Angela Heitkamp, Brittany Jutte, Julie Wendel and Kasey Vogel for the girls, and Travis Sutter, Tanner Koch and Wes Wenning for the boys.
