Giants knock off Jay County

MARION - The Jay County High School boys soccer team suffered its first shutout since the opening game of the season Thursday as they fell to a 2-0 loss to the Marion Giants.
The Patriots, who had scored in each game since falling 4-0 to Muncie Central Aug. 18, dropped to 8-4 as Marion scored at the mid-point of each half. They managed just two shots on goal, both by senior Brad Horn.
Adam Daniels finished with four saves.
Jay County dropped the junior varsity game 4-2 with goals from Kaelin Jewell and Ravi Patel. Chris Stephens had six saves.
EJ beats to Dennis
East Jay Middle School's seventh grade volleyball team rolled to a 25-12, 25-7 victory Thursday over visiting Richmond Dennis.
Jessica Kerrigan had 15 points, including six aces, and two assists to lead the Chiefs. Malarie Houck added six points.
Michelle Wellman and Catherine Dunn each scored six points, and Breanne McIntire finished with three kills.[[In-content Ad]]
