Going Local Week is food challenge
Taking Note
Jay County Purdue Extension is challenging local residents during GOING LOCAL week, which begins Sunday and continues through Saturday, Sept. 12.
Residents are challenged to eat at least one Indiana locally grown or produced food at each meal during the week.
Some suggestions to try during the week are to shop at a local farmer's market; visit an orchard or pick your own produce; take a farm tour; or host a potluck featuring dishes made with local ingredients.
For recipes using Indiana produce, call Kristi Henry at the Purdue Extension office at (260) 726-4707.
