Grandson is honored for accomplishments
Taking Note
State Rep. Bill Davis (R-Portland) was privileged to honor his grandson Brock Norton in front of the House of Representatives with a resolution recognizing him for his outstanding performance in the state wrestling finals.
Norton, a senior at Fort Wayne Carroll High School, won the individual state wrestling title in the 135-pound weight class at Conseco Fieldhouse by beating previously undefeated Mason Berryman of Anderson Highland.
Even though Norton was diagnosed with diabetes last December, it didn't stop him from continuing his wrestling career. He finished the season with a 39-0 record and 76-1 in the past two seasons.
"I am very proud of Brock for the accomplishments he has earned throughout his wrestling career." "I am looking forward to the new and exciting opportunities that wait for him in college. I am even more proud of his decision to seek higher education as well as his positive outlook on life with his fight against diabetes," Rep. Davis said.
