Gray's 50-year class honored (06/22/06)

The Gov. I.P. Gray High School Alumni Banquet was held recently with members of the classes of 1936, 1941, 1946, 1951, 1956 and 1961 in attendance.
Those present from the fifty year class were Janet (Brinkerhoff) Minch, Muncie; Mary Ann (Geesaman) Hardesty, Hartford City; Bill and Ferol (Pursiful) Hudson, Swartz Creek, Mich.; Robert Stein, Marion, Ill.; Carolyn (Vore) Hardyman, Miamisburg, Ohio; Bill Wilkinson, Beverly (Fields) Nuckols, Kay (Manor) Rogers, Wanda (Nixon) Eley and Evadene (Walters) Grogg, all of Portland.
Former teacher Nancy (Hale) Manring was recognized. New officers chosen for next year were Don Owens, president; Kenny Landess, vice president; and Wanda (Nixon) Eley, secretary treasurer.

Purdue degrees
Area students recently received degrees from Purdue University.
Audrey Marie Muhlenkamp, Bryant, earned a master’s degree for engineering.
Adam G. Westgerdes, Portland, earned a bachelor’s degree in building construction and contract.
Ashley Erin Klingman, Portland, earned a bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine.
Vincennes degrees
Area students recently received degrees from Vincennes University.
Ryan Lee VanSkyock, Dunkirk, earned an associate’s degree in broadcasting.
Danielle Marie Look, Portland, earned an associate’s degree in printing technology.
President’s list
Matthew Minnich and Travis Richards, both of Portland, have made the president’s list for the spring semester at Tri-State University in Angola. To make the list, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.75 to 4.0.
Both Minnich and Richards are studying mechanical engineering.
Dean’s lists
These Jay County students recently made the dean’s list at Purdue University.
Jay Benjamin Muhlenkamp, Bryant; Sarah Elizabeth Lyons, Andrew Joseph Baldauf, Curtis Daniel Foreman, Paul Christopher Imel and Adam William Brandt, all of Portland.
Students making the dean’s list from Vincennes University for the spring semester were Rebecca Marie Beeler and Danielle Marie Look, both of Portland.
Beeler is studying American sign language and Look is studying printing technology.
Shannon O’Dell, Pennville, recently made the dean’s list at Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio.[[In-content Ad]]
