Grief support workshop set (03/23/04)

State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice is starting its spring Grief Support Group on Monday, March 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and for the next five consecutive Mondays. They will meet at the Jay County Hospital in Conference Room C.

The support group is free and is for adults who are mourning the death of a loved one, recent or in the past.

ART SHOW AND POETRY

On Friday, March 26, the Art Association of Randolph County and Mississinawa Valley Local School will host a combined art show and open-mic poetry night.

The 50th Anniversary Art Show, which will be held at the Union City Art Depot will begin at 5 p.m. Area poets are invited to view oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, photographs, and eclectic art before the open-mic poetry begins.

The open-mic poetry event will be held in the Community Room of the Chamber of Commerce, 105 North Columbia St. Union City.

Mississinawa Valley’s resident poet Nancy Kangas will be there. Poets and readers from surrounding counties are invited to attend.

A reception with hors d’ oeuvres and music will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Readings will begin at 7 p.m.

Minnetrista Free Tours

On Saturday, March 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be a behind-the-scenes tour to view the Minnetrista Heritage Collection, which is devoted to the preservation of artifacts that document the history of East Central Indiana.
