Groups to meet at library
Taking Note
The Book Discussion Group at Jay County Public Library will discuss “A Christmas Blizzard” by Garrison Keillor on Monday at 7 p.m. New members are welcome.
The Crochet Club will meet Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. for teens and adults. Beginners and experts may come and share patterns, trade tips, show off projects and stitch. Please bring your own supplies.
Email: The Basics will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the library. Learn how to set up an email account through Google (gmail), send and receive messages and manage your inbox. Participants must have a general knowledge of the internet. Register by Dec. 18, by calling the library at (260) 726-7890.
One-on-one classes are also available in Beginner Internet and eReader Rescue. Classes are 30-minute sessions. Call the library to schedule a class.
Pages needed
Sen. Travis Holdman, R-Markle, invites middle and high school students to serve as pages during the 2013 legislative session.
The session begins on Jan 7 and continues through April 29.

Gardener class
A Purdue Master Gardener Intern Class will begin in January. The class is for anyone who enjoys gardening, wants to learn more about horticulture and give back to the community.
Classes will be held each Thursday from Jan. 31 through April 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Jay County 4-H Building.
The cost is $95 per person or $150 for a couple sharing one set of materials. Registration deadline is Jan. 18, but please register as soon as possible. For more information, call Larry Temple at (260) 726-4707 or email [email protected].
