Gun shop set to open

Business Roundup

A rural Portland couple will open a new gun and outdoor shop next week.
1 Shot Sports, owned and operated by Dustin and Lori Bantz, will open Tuesday at 10 a.m. at 201 E. Main St., Portland.
The shop will feature a variety of guns and muzzleloaders, along with ammunition, hunting accessories and firearms cleaning supplies.
The store will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
The store’s phone number is (260) 766-1426.

BGC sold
Stan Richards, the owner of Albany Golf Club, has added another course to his portfolio.
At a meeting earlier this week, Richards was introduced as the new owner of Blackford Gold Club.
The future of the club, which has a long history in Hartford City, had been in doubt.
Richards told those gathered at the course, located on the southwest side of the city along Ind. 26, that although he has taken ownership some work must be completed before things are fully operational.
Players must walk the course for now because work must be done on power carts before they can be used.
“It will be better,” Richards said to members of the club and a homeowner’s association. “I want to work together with everyone in the best interest of the golf course and homeowners.”
