Mr. and Mrs. Jack Haffner, 564 West 100 North, Portland, will celebrate their 50h wedding anniversary with a family dinner followed by an open house for family and friends on Sunday, Dec. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. at White Linen Hall, 121 N. Meridian St., Portland.
Jack was married to Betty Snow on Dec. 29, 1953, by the Rev. Paul Eager. They are both graduates of Portland High School.
Jack is a retired machinist from Portland Forge and his wife is a retired school bus driver for the Jay County School Corporation.
They have four children, Mrs. Michael (Karen) Hirschy, Portland; Mrs. Mark (Teresa) Myers, Dunkirk; Randall (wife Lynn), Pendleton; one daughter is deceased.
The couple also has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
They took a cruise in celebration of their marriage in June and July to Alaska and Canada.
In place of a gift, the couple requests that non-perishable items be brought to be donated to the Helping Hands Food Bank.[[In-content Ad]]
