Halloween fun is planned at the JC Public Library (10/19/05)

A Halloween themed after school special will be held Friday from 2:45 to 4 p.m. at the Jay County Public Library for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. A snack will be served, stories shared and a craft completed. Registration is required. To register, call the library at (260) 726-7890.

Story times

The Jay County Public Library will have story times on Monday, Oct. 24, at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. Story time will include four or five books read aloud, followed by a craft or special event based on the theme. Infants and young children are invited and must be accompanied by an adult. Please call the library at (260) 726-7890 if you plan to bring a large group.

Workshop

The Grandparent/Kinship Workshop 2005 will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at High Street United Methodist Church, 219 S. High St. in Muncie.

The workshop is intended to help grandparents and other older kinship parents who are raising children to learn about community resources, laws governing issues kinship parents might face, family transition issues, discipline issues and support available to help them.
